Ingrid - originally from Germany - made her home in Edmonton, Alberta, after coming to Canada in 1963.

Ingrid's interest in photography goes back many years. She started out with a 1929 Agfa camera which had belonged to her father. She became more seriously interested in photography once she owned her first SLR camera. She is a self taught photographer and gained most of her knowlege from reading books and magazines, attending workshops and shooting miles of film.

Ingrid is a great nature lover and her camera travels with her - at vacations, or just on a drive through the nearby countryside. Photography has opened her eyes to the world around her and she becomes more aware of the beauty there is all the time.

Photographs often bring surprises with the results obtained and joy in the memory they recall.

Her favourite subjects are flowers, landscapes and animals. She finds the ever changing kaleidoscope of color and shape in flowers and landscape a constant inspiration and challenge.

Since her early retirement from the University of Alberta her work has been displayed in several galleries, such as Muttart Conservatory, Arts Craft Council, Holt Renfrew, Oppertshauser Gallery, Strathcona Place and John Janzen Nature Centre. Some of her work has been published in photo magazines, calendars and local newspapers.
