Fun With E-mail (ELDW FWE)

 
Now that you know how to send and receive e-mail, this course will teach you the fun features available in Microsoft Outlook Express.  You can add music and pictures to your email, create stationery for special occasions and add your own unique signature line to your email communications.

Fun with Word (ELDW FWW)

 
Microsoft Word is not just your ordinary word processor!  This software includes great clipart and photographs to accent any document.  In this course,  we will use that clipart, plus the gallery of artistic WordArt to create a greeting card and poster.  Add in a colorful text box and your project will shine!

Fun with Publisher (ELDW FWP)

 
Microsoft Publisher is a versatile page creation program!  Learn how to use this program to create posters, greeting cards, calendars and much more.

Fun with Digital Images (ELDW FDI)

 
Adobe Photoshop Elements  has some great features for creating collages, calendars or greeting cards with your digital images.  We will explore this software’s potential for fun projects by creating our own !

Basics of CD/DVD Burning (ELDW CDB)

 
CDs and DVDs are storage media capable of storing music, pictures, files, folders, settings, and programs.  Data on CD or DVD can be used as backup, file saving, or to transfer to another machine.  This course focuses on the concepts and steps to storing info on CDs and DVDs.  We will discuss the difference between recordable CDs and DVDs and re-writable CDs and DVDs and when to use a particular type. Plus we will create a music CD that you can play in your car on the way home!

Voice Over Internet....and more (ELDW VI)

 
You don't need to pay more to talk to your friends and family anywhere in the world!  Your computer gives you the capability of text messaging, speaking or even video conferencing with free programs like Messenger and Skype.   This course is all you need to get set up and talking to anyone, anywhere through your computer speakers and a microphone.  If you want to see that long lost relative, add a web camera - we'll show you how.

ElderWeb member: $39.00 + GST. Group 3 courses are available to Members only.

Visit the Internet Station at Southgate  Center in person. We are located at the southeast mall entrance next to the elevator. Our hours of operation are 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday to Friday, closed on statutory holidays.
