Microsoft Word 2007 (ELDW WB)

 
Whether you are sending letters or emailing friends, word processing is a fundamental skill to computer use.  In this course, we will use Microsoft Word to learn how to set margins, align your text, cut and paste, spell check, bold and underline.  You will learn the difference between save and save as.

Word 2007 Intermediate - Step 1 (ELDW W1)

 
Word processing goes beyond typing emails and letters!  This course will introduce you to the power of Word to create artistic and colourful headings, use columns for dramatic style, import pictures and clipart and manage various objects on a page.
Prerequisite required: Word

Tabs, tables, bullets and numbering can make your word processing stand out!  Add these features to font styles and artwork and you are guaranteed to impress.

Word 2007 Intermediate - Step 3 (ELDW W3)

 
Have you ever wanted to send letters or make announcements to a list of people?  Word can help you compose one base letter, merge it with your own address list, make each letter personal to each recipient and even prepare labels or envelopes.  Now you'll make sure no one ever misses the news at your house!
Prerequisite required: Word

Excel 2007 (ELDW EB)

 
This spreadsheet program gives you the power to confidently present financial information such as a home budget.  You will let the computer do the math to tally the results, and then format the information and even present charts to display the allocation of your funds.

PowerPoint 2007 (ELDW PP)

 
Whether you are creating a slide show of your favorite photographs, or lecturing at a conference, this Microsoft product creates powerful presentations with flair.  You will learn how to create slides, with sounds, transitions, and artwork in this fun and easy course.

Publisher 2007 (ELDW PB)

 
Microsoft Publisher gives you the tools to create newsletters, menus, cards, calendars, emails, web pages or pretty well ANY desktop publishing project you can imagine.  In this course, we will introduce you to the built-in projects you can personalize, as well as the tools to create your own from scratch.

            Prerequisite to this course is Word.

All classes are held at ElderWeb's Internet Station located in Southgate Center, Edmonton, Alberta.

Course fees:

ElderWeb member: $39.00 + GST. Group 2 courses are available to Members only.

Visit the Internet Station at Southgate  Center in person. We are located at the southeast mall entrance next to the elevator. Our hours of operation are 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday to Friday, closed on statutory holidays.
